All those involved in the assessment, control and prevention of Legionella bacteria needs to have regular training.  The need for regular training is identified in sections 50 & 51 of the Health & Safety Executives Approved Code of Practice ACOP L8 as well as in the Department of Health's HTM 04-01.  Why is regular training needed?  Very simply, because things change.  Our understanding of bacteria like Legionella is constantly evolving and official guidance and technical guidance is then updated as needed.  Secondly, but just as important is the need to refresh skills and knowledge.

In the last few years, we have seen several businesses, organisations and even councils being fined and prosecuted for Legionella failures and in nearly all cases a lack of competence and training was identified.  Prosecutions have ranged from suspended prison sentences to fines ranging from £27,000 to £3,000,000.

At Water Wise Services our Government Endorsed Trust Mark Certified team have developed several Legionella training courses for those involved in the assessment, control and prevention of Legionella bacteria.  The courses are particularly usful for landlords, letting agents, employers, managers and for those who are responsible for the day to day control and prevention tasks.  All our courses have been written by qualified engineers with at least a decades Legionella assessment, control and prevention experience.

Our training courses have even helped people achieve employment, "Water Wise Services deliver exactly what they say.  The recent training, I received was delivered in a concise well organised and professional manner.  I would recommend their services without hesitation and the certification even helped me secure my new role within the NHS.  A personal thank you to Adam for going the extra mile." - Bobby Bee
