DIY Legionella Risk Assessments £15.00 +VAT per assessment
Save time & money. Carry out your own Legionella Risk Assessments in your own time with support from Trust Mark certified Legionella Risk Assessors. The scheme ensures its members are fully vetted to ensure Technical Competence, Good Customer Service & Good Trading Practices. DIY Assessments are suitable for Domestic Rented Properties and smaller hot & cold-water systems.
At Water Wise Services we are aware of the problems that landlords face, having to coordinate tenants, customers, service users, letting agents and tradesmen can be a nightmare especially when living miles away. And now you have a legal obligation to have a Legionella Risk Assessment carried out.
We offer a Do It Yourself or DIY Legionella Risk Assessment service for domestic and low risk properties. We believe this service to be unique in the UK. Yes, there are other DIY Legionella Risk Assessment products but, unlike other services where you are normally just purchasing a template to download and fill in with no actual support, with us your risk assessment is checked and assessed by one of our Trust Mark Certified team giving you that extra piece of mind.
We often get phone calls from Landlords who have received a letter or email from letting agents telling them that Legionella Testing is a legal or statutory obligation, it is not, this clearly stated on the HSE website. You are legally required to have a valid Legionella Risk Assessment in place and one of the outcomes of the risk assessment may be to have testing carried out but in domestic properties this is rare.
For this service to be applicable to you, your property must be supplied by mains cold water, not include any solar panels, air or ground source heat pumps. The property must not be open to the public (unless you have a small domestic sized water system), be any form of care home, place of business or have a water system larger than you would find in a domestic property.
If you share a hot water system with other properties such as flats or your water is heated by anything other than a combi boiler or immersion type water heater then you do not have a standard domestic system and your risk assessment needs to be more in-depth than this service allows for. This service is also not applicable for houses of multiple occupation (HMO).
To carry out the inspection you will need a temperature probe of some type that has a range of between 0c to 100c. These can be bought very cheaply from most plumber’s merchants and DIY stores.
Forms that are sent to us with no water temperatures or that do not meet the criteria stated above will still be charged for and you may then need to pay for another assessment to have the risk properly assessed. If you have any questions then please email us.
Once complete your risk assessment is valid for upto 2 years.
Once purchased your online form is only available for 30 days so we strongly advise you to not purchase a DIY Risk Assessment until you are ready to carry out the actual assessment. After 30 days your online form will expire, and you will need to purchase another assessment. Each online form is for one site only.

Common Questions & Answers
I Did Not Need a Risk Assessment Before, Why Now? The HSE periodically reviews Health & Safety practices and Codes of Practice. In November 2013 the HSE released its 4th edition of the ACOP L8 and for the first time domestic properties fell under the requirements of the ACOP L8.

Can't I Just Do My Own Risk Assessment? Yes, you can but you may need to demonstrate that you have the knowledge, skill and competency to have carried out the risk assessment correctly and our service supports you in carrying out the assessment.
How Often Do I Need to Renew the Assessment? The ACOP L8 requires that the risk assessment be reviewed at least once every two years or more often depending on changes to the system.
