The Health & Safety Executives Approved Code of Practice ACOP L8 requires those involved in the assessment, control and prevention of Legionella bacteria be technically competent. Even if you decide to use contractors to meet your health & safety obligations you still need to have an awareness of the requirements of the ACOP L8 and be able to assess the competency of any contractors.
