A Legionella Risk Assessment is the starting point to ensuring compliance with the HSE's ACOP L8, HSG 274 and the 04-01. The purpose of the assessment is to identify any potential risk from Legionella bacteria and to recommend site specific control and prevention measures to minimise and manage those risks. HTM 04-01 requires that Legionella risk assessments are carried out by specialist contractors.
Meeting the standards of Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 04-01 - Safe Water in Healthcare Premises is a requirement for care homes, regulated activities and registration with the CQC.
HTM 04-01 is referenced by the HSE's ACOP L8 and requires higher standards of design and management of hot and cold-water systems than other types of sites, the Building Regulations or the Water Regulations. HTM 04-01 requires the use of specialist contractors and Water Safe registered plumbers to ensure public health.

Our Service
Our Legionella risk assessors will measure the performance of your systems against the requirements of the HSE's ACOP L8 or if you are a healthcare site against the requirements of Department of Health's HTM 04-01. We will also inspect any control and prevention records you may have to help assess the risk at the site.
Once the site visit is complete, a written risk assessment will be produced which will include an Action Point List and a site specific Control Scheme with our recommendations to minimise the risk of Legionella bacteria at the site.
