CPD Accredited Provider.  Online Legionella Training Courses from £20.00.

If you run a business, have employees, own or manage a property then you need to have an understanding of Legionella bacteria and have regular training.  The need for regular training is identified in sections 50 & 51 of the HSE's ACOP L8.  Why is regular training needed?  Very simply, because things change.  Official guidance is often updated and developed.  Even if you use contractors you still need to understand the various health & safety requirements for Legioenlla and the control & prevention measures that are in place.

Over the last few years, we have seen several businesses, organisations and even councils being fined and prosecuted for Legionella failures and in nearly every case a lack of competence and training was identified.  Prosecutions have ranged from suspended prison sentences to fines ranging from £10,000 to £3,000,000.

Our Government Endorsed Trust Mark Certified team have developed several Legionella training courses.  The courses are particularly usful for landlords, letting agents, employers, managers and for those who are responsible for the day to day control and prevention tasks.  All our courses have been written by qualified engineers with at least a decades Legionella assessment, control and prevention experience.

System Flushing

When an outlet is not used for a period of seven days or more the HSE term the outlet as infrequently used and require that measures are taken to minimise the risk of Legionella bacterial growth.  The most usual method is to regularly "flush" your system.

Temperature Monitoring

Temperature monitoring is the most cost effective way to control and prevent Legionella bacteria.  In this short course we look at the various temperatures required to be an effective measure against Legionella bacteria as well legal requirements and guidance based on the type of site and user.

Scalding Risk

Meeting legal requirements for your hot water system can create a scalding risk.  In this short course we look at what could cause a scalding risk based on the site and service user and how to minimise the risk corretly whilst still minimising the risk of Legionella bacteria.
