Legionella Risk Assessments for Care Homes designed to meet the requirements of the ACOP L8, HTM 04-01 and BS 8580-1.

Health & safety law requires that a suitable and sufficent risk assessment must be carried out by a competent person to identify and assess the risk of exposure to legionella bacteria from water systems at your premises as well as any precautionary measures to reduce the risk.  Having an upto date risk assessment in place is also a requirement of CQC registration.

Our risk assessments are approved by Trading Standards and certified by Trust Mark as meeting government endorsed quality standards.  We balance the varying requirements of the ACOP L8 and the Dept of Health's HTM 04-01 which requires a much high standard of design, installation and monitoring for care homes than other types of sites.

Our assessors are City & Guilds Accredited, Water Safe registered, members of the CIPHE and recognised as Approved Contractors under the Water Regulations.  We hold Gold membership with Constructionline and Once for All SSIP.

Our assessors will measure the performance of your site against the requirements of the HSE's ACOP L8 and HTM 04-01.  To ensure quality our assessments are carried out using BS 8580-1.  We will also inspect any control and prevention records you may have to help assess the risk at the site. 

Once the site visit is complete, a written risk assessment will be produced which will include an Action Point List and a site specific Control Scheme with our recommendations to minimise the risk of Legionella bacteria at the site.
