CPD Accredited Legionella Awareness Online Training Course.  Covering the Requirememts of the HSE's ACOP L8 and HSG 274.

The ACOP L8 requires that Duty Holders, those in control of premises and whoever carries out the required control and prevention measures are "competent" and have regular training.

This Legionella Awareness course is ideal for business owners, facilities managers or anyone who needs to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the risks of Legionella bacteria.

In this course we look at;

• The History of Legionella Bacteria.  Where Legionella bacteria was first discovered.
• What is Legionella Bacteria.  How Legionella bacteria develops, the effects of Legionella bacteria and when to report cases of Legionella.
• Guidance & Legislation.  We cover the requirements of the Health & Safety Executives ACOP L8 and technical guidance HSG 274.
• Standards of Design & Plumbing.  How poor standards of plumbing and design increase the risk of Legionella and how to minimise the risk by using approved plumbers.  We also take a look at the Water Regulations and the work of Water Regulations Inspectors.
• The Legionella Risk Assessment.  What the risk assessment should include and we also look at British Standards BS 8580-1.
• Legionella Control Scheme.  How the findings of the Legionella Risk Assessment should be incorporated into a control scheme designed to minimise the risk of Legionella.
• Legionella Testing.  When Legionella testing is recommended and which testing method should be used.
